P4P - Leading Users and ISPs to more EfficiencyP4P is a framework for cooperative traffic control between applications and network providers developed within the P4P Working Group. Through this control, application users can see increased performance while network providers can reduce costs and improve network efficiency. Read about P4P and the benefits it provides to both P2P users and Internet Service Providers. Who are you?P4P is a system that can be used by many types of people. This website contains information about the entire system. The sections below can quickly point you to the information most relevant to you. P2P UsersWe are currently integrating P4P with a number of P2P applications. In particular, we have integrated P4P with Pando for our Feburary and July 2008 field tests, and are currently working on integrations with a number of large P2P Live Streaming applications. P2P Application DevelopersAre you interested in integrating P4P in your P2P application? We have made available our P4P Integration Library. This library includes simple APIs for querying P4P information from ISPs, as well as well as APIs for assisting in peer selection for P2P trackers and clients. APIs are currently available in C++. You may also be interested in the Portal Server if you need to run a server for your own evaluations. Internet Service ProvidersAre you interested in providing P4P services in your network or participating in field tests? See the ISP Integration Guide for more information. You may also want to download the Portal Server, documentation, and related utilities. Contact InformationPlease contact the Yale P4P team at p4p@cs.yale.edu with comments, questions, or suggestions.
